· The Yajña
· which is performed as prescribed in scriptures,
· by those who have no desire for result, thus fixing the mind that such Yajna must be performed,
· is sāttvikah
· The Yajña
· which is performed desiring the result, or
· for the sake of pride
· is Rājasam
· The Yajña
· Without vidhi (scriptural regulations),
· without creation of Annam (offering food),
· without mantra,
· without daksinām,
· without sraddhā
· is considered to be Tāmasam.
